NEW 2012 Club Champion: Ed Karabiev!
The 2012 Springfield Park Board Chess Club Championship was held between February 3rd and April 30th.
Ed Karabiev is the 2012 Club Champion. His result: 9 - 0. His one loss to Pagel does not count as Pagel withdrew from the tournament due to work obligations. No one can catch him and he has finished all his games. Ed beat David Luscomb and James Long, the two hightest rated players in the tournament. Luscomb also lost to James Long thus the best Luscomb can do is 7 wins and Long completed all his games with 8 wins. Congratulations to our new club champion 2012: Ed Karabiev All USCF eligible games were rated. Those who were not USCF members were still eligible to win the city championship; however, those participants who did not complete all rounds, though the games played were rated (if they could be), for tournament purposes, all games played by the person(s) who did not complete all rounds are declared as forfeit losses. Time limit was game in 60 minutes no delay. Joe Brozovich, the club's President, directed the tournament. 2012 marks the Club's 40th Anniversary! |
